49 Red Flags To Watch Out For In A Man When Dating

It is often possible to spot potential trouble ( and make the decision to avoid it) early on in the dating process if we pay careful attention to behaviors, actions and words of men and not let our emotions cause us to have a foggy vision.

I put together a list of 49 red flags to watch out for when you are dating a new man.

  1. If he is too good to be true, he probably is not true
  2. Unable to cut ties to a previous wife/girlfriend
  3. If the bartender knows what he wants before he orders.
  4. You feel you are not a priority
  5. Sexualize all conversations
  6. Chronic Bad financial situation, compulsive spending, financial irresponsibility. He always needs help to pay his bills
  7. Can’t hold a job, Poor work ethic (changes jobs often and it is NEVER his fault)
  8. Dysfunctional family. The crazy apple doesn’t fall far from the crazy tree
  9. Too close of a relationship with parents, especially with a mother.
  10. He lives with parents or family members (not always a bad sign but if he is old enough to have his life together he should probably have his own place).
  11. His words and actions don’t line up, inconsistency.
  12. Multiple children by multiple women
  13. too many female friends on Facebook or following too many girls on Instagram
  14. Talking shit about ex, If all the exes are “crazy”
  15. Secretive about parts of his life, too mysterious…I no longer find this sexy, and you’d be better off adopting the same atittude
  16. Tons of failed relationships
  17. Does not treat people of a lower social status right.
  18. Doesn’t ask questions about you, mostly talks about himself
  19. Confrontational when disagreed with
  20. Disregard for your needs
  21. Dismiss your feelings, opinions, concerns
  22. Excessive smoking, drinking and use of drugs
  23. Have a tight hold of their phone
  24. He has anger issues. Physical or emotional violence, name calling
  25. Blame shifts
  26. Manipulative, ghaslighiting, silent treatment, Breadcrumbing, Passive aggressive
  27. Controlling, he wants to dictate his will onto you
  28. Lack of open communication skills
  29. Unable to accept blame, criticism
  30. Poor relationship with his kids (for example choosing not to do visitation)
  31. Eager to pointing you’re flaws right away
  32. Serial cheater
  33. Lack of empathy or consideration for others
  34. A sense of entitlement

  40. Low tolerance to frustration, cannot handle the word no
  41. He quits doing the sweet things he did for you in the beginning
  42. It’s always other people’s fault, never theirs

  44. If you catch him lying
  45. He does not keep his word
  46. If you feel you like him more than he likes you, it probably is true and you don’t want to be in an unbalanced relationship
  47. Doesn’t respect your boundaries ( example wanting sex too soon )
  48. He finds excuses to bad behavior
  49. He denies when he gets caught
  50. You feel they are playing a game, there is a difference between seduction and playing games
